We are
going to install an AEBS fuel rail on a 1999 Acura Integra GS-R. This
particular install is on a GS-R but the information can be related to
most other vehicles. Be sure to check your service manual for other
information pertaining to the removal and installation of your fuel
rail. Be sure to let your car cool down prior to this installation.

Step 1
This is what your stock fuel rail looks like.

Step 2
Relieve the back pressure from your fuel system. One way to do this
is to remove the gas cap. Be sure to re-attach prior to driving
though.

Step 3
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid any
possible sparks.

Step 4
Check your components to be sure this is the correct fuel rail for
your car.

Step 5
Other useful items to this performance part are an adjustable fuel
pressure regulator (aka. FPR) and a fuel pressure gauge.

adjustable FPR
Step 6
Remove the retaining clip from the injectors by pulling back on the
clip itself. It does not need to come all the way off, just enough to
release from the injector.

Step 7
Loosen and remove the 10mm nuts holding the wiring harness to the
fuel rail.

Step 8
After the injector harness' have been removed, you can move the
entire harness out of the way. Be sure to remove any additional
harness plugs you may have connected to it.

Step 9
Unplug the vacuum line from the stock FPR.

Step 10
Move the spring clip securing the fuel return line to the stock FPR.

Step 11
Remove the return line from the stock FPR.

Step 12
There is a support bracket connecting the fuel rail to the intake
manifold.

Step 13
Loosen and remove the two 10mm bolts holding it down.

Step 14
With a 22mm wrench, loosen and remove the surge valve on the end of
the stock fuel rail. We have found it easier to place the wrench on it
and hit the wrench suddenly to loosen. This puts less stress on the
rail and its other components.

Step 15
Remove the surge valve and the washer behind it. Be careful not to
lose this washer as it will be re-used. There is one more washer after
the banjo fitting that needs to be removed as well.

Step 16
Remove the banjo fitting on the end of the fuel line connected to
the fuel rail.

Step 17
Loosen and remove the three 10mm nuts securing the stock fuel rail
to the intake manifold.

Step 18
Carefully, yet firmly, remove the stock fuel rail.

Step 19
Be sure not to lose the spacers.

Step 20
Be sure not to lose the injector gaskets.

Step 21
Screw in the supplied end cap into the outlet side of the AEBS high
flow fuel rail. This port is used if you have a remote located FPR.

Step 22
Use an alan wrench to torque the end cap down to about 14 ft-lbs.
The end cap has a rubber grommet to aid in sealing so too much torque
is not required.

Step 23
Install the supplied adapter piece to the inlet side of the fuel
rail. Again, torque to about 14 ft-lbs

Step 24
Unless you are using a remote located FPR as described in step 21,
you will need to drill out the port for the fuel return.

Step 25
Carefully place your fuel rail into a vice to hold steady.

Step 26
Carefully and VERY deliberately, drill out a hole into the fuel
return port on the fuel rail.

Step 27
Be as careful as you can to keep it centered so you don't damage
any threads. The threads are there in case you want to cap it off in
the future or want to add another fuel port for say an additional
injector or a Nitrous solenoid.

Step 28
The hole should look like this when you are done.

Step 29
Clean out any debris and/or metal shavings.
Step 30
Install your injectors into the fuel rail. If you are using the
stock injectors, we recommend you have them cleaned and bench tested
prior to re-installing. This customer used new RC injectors.

Step 31
This is what it should look like with the new fuel injectors
installed.

Step 32
If you did use new injectors, they most likely came with new
injector gaskets, use them.

Step 33
Place the complete fuel rail assembly back into place.

Step 34
Check to make sure that your FPR (new or aftermarket) will not
interfere with anything.

Step 35
Once all clearances have been checked, tighten the fuel rail down
and reconnect all the fuel lines in reverse order of removal.
Step 36
Unclip the plastic casing on the injector harness.

Step 37
Completely remove the plastic casing. The harness will not fully
reach with this piece.

Step 38
Reconnect your injector harness plugs.

Step 39
This is what it should look like when you are complete.
